Remembering the Champ – 2015

As was stated by our esteemed BBL elder, Cocky Spainards:

“The Greatest Champ Ever took down his third title in unprecedented fashion.”

Here is an excerpt from Mr. Spainard’s mid-season report on July 4, 2015:

“Paezans (78 points) – Our Greatest Champ Ever is looking to add to his hardware.  Fortunately for us, Mean Potter only let Nice Potter spend $244 of their budget at the Auction and made an ill-advised mid-Auction trade sending youngster Jace Peterson (3/35/8/.333) to the Streak for former Poke Jordy Mercer (0/9/1/.326).  I never thought I’d type this, but thank goodness for Mean Potter; otherwise, Nice Potter would be running away this thing with the likes of 2015 MVP Arenado and one of the best BBL starting pitching staffs ever assembled (Sale, Cole, deGrom, Arrieta and Lynn).  It is no surprise that the starting pitching is so good considering the Paezans spent almost $100 on pitching (second most of any team this year), but it is unreal that the Paezans have the third best hitting team spending about $40 less on offense than any other team in the top six in the standing.  It is looking really good for the Paezans, but, if the Paezans don’t win, I predict that Mean Potter is going to make one or both of Joe Madden and Lloyd McClendon disappear.”

Here is the Quibbler’s Post-Auction Report:

The Best Champ Ever was balling this year.  The Beer Girls were off the chart awesome.  The script-writing for Roshambo was the shizzle. Worried About the Beer Girls Potter however left $16 on the table.  Do you realize that $16 could have purchased Grandal, Morneau, J. Peralta, Pence, Melky Cabrera, or Kris Davis to name a few.  I am guessing those players would have helped the Paezans not be projected for last place in HR this year.  You can make up ERA/Ratio…but finding power on the waiver wire is no easy task. It was reported that the untimely report of Mejia’s suspension for PED’s was taken very hard by the Pimp’s.  He simply could not recover from that news and spend the rest of his money.

Best Pick: Chris Sale ($25) is probably the best value of the entire auction.  Amazing that other aces went so very much higher Scherzer ($34), Kershaw ($41) and Price ($28).  I am guessing the Pimps will need to trade Sale for a big bat.

Worst Pick:  The Player to be Named Later ($16).  Really, don’t leave money on the table.

To say that the “Best Champ Ever” won the league in an unprecedented fashion is like saying Heidi Klum is pretty.  No kidding right?
