So what do we do well?

We pick Champions baby! The last four Champions Blue Moon Odum (2019), Cocky Spainards (2018), and Sundance Kids (2017) were picked by the Quibbler as Blue Moon Odum (13)(2019), Cocky Spainards (13) (2018), and Sundance Kids (14) (2017).

Are you kidding me? You read that right. The Quibbler has the Sports Illustrated Curse for fantasy baseball! All three of the last champions were picked either 13th or 14th by the Quibbler’s Patented Projections System.

Observations on the Champ’s Winning Auction.

Here is what we said last year on a few of the Champ’s picks:

Picks: Muncy (24) and Ohtani (12).  Those HR/RBI concerns could go away if Muncy plays like he did last year and Ohtani actually becomes the Japanese Babe Ruth. On a side note, Seager could also help in the HR department if he finds his power stroke again.

Pans: Kershaw (20).  Yes…yes we know that Kershaw has gone for upper 30’s and low 40’s the last three years.  But..dude has a bad back and only pitched 160 innings last year and is projected to only pitch 131 innings this year.  Ohh…did I mention that his velocity is looking a lot like Tim Wakefield?

Key players purchased at auction:

Max Muncy (35/91/.374)

Sano (34/79/.346) – are you kidding me?

Arenando (41/118/.379)

Tim Andreson (18/56/17/.357) – Batting Champ

Jeff McNeil (23/75/.384)

Kershaw (189/3.03/1.04)

Darvish (229/3.71/1.10) – Amazing after a horrible May

Yates/Melancon/Neris (combined 91 saves)

The Professor hit on many different hitters/pitchers.  But, some savvy FAAB bids hit as well such as Aquino ($7), Lux ($7), Max Fried ($1), Joe Jimenez ($0) (9 saves) and one key trade with the French Pastries (Sano for Devers).

It was simply a magical season for the Champ from nice purchases at the auction, great (really great) FAAB picks and one key trade.

Good luck coaches in 2020!
